At Baildon, our pupils take great pleasure and pride from the rich variety of sporting opportunities available, developing a life-long love of excercise and physical activities. During the 2016-17 academic year, over 80% of our children from Year 1-6 took part in an extra-curricular sports club. Whilst over 60% of pupils from Year 2-6 represented the school in a local competitions. Our inclusivity, excellent levels of participation and the enjoyment of our pupils was recognised during the 2017 Active Bradford awards when we were extremely proud to be awarded as The Most Active School in Bradford Award. We have also received the the Sainsbury's School Games Mark Gold Award for the past four years.
Our PE lessons are structured and planned so the children’s core skills are developed and expanded upon on a year-by-year basis whilst engaging in a variety of sports, activities and fitness boosting opportunities delivered by teachers and specialist coaches. Furthermore, our annual Healthy Schools Week provides a celebration of active lifestyles and further encourages our pupils to engage in sporting activities.
